Through the Keyhole has done a blogpost on books you read to your children. It is really interesting and I wondered which games you played with your children. We .have grandchildren and so we are revisiting games from our children which we have kept.Yesterday we were playing Game of Life.Recently we have played Cluedo and Taxi. Our oldest games were Picture Pairs and The House that Jack Built.
How about you?
We played Chase the Ace and Newmarket and lots of other card games, snap which would get very loud and Old Maid to quieten things down. There was one with farmyard animals, possibly Old McDonald, that I can not fully remember. We did read books voraciously and of course there were rag rugs to be hooked all the time.ReplyDelete
Trivial Pursuit and ParchesiReplyDelete
Scrabble was and still is a favourite although I really enjoy bananagrams as a quicker alternative! Monopoly has kept us busy for hours too but it's not top of my list as it can take so long to play. Top trumps was always something that came with us on holiday and a regular pack of cards too for beggar my neighbour etc! It is fun to see what everyone else has played over the years too xxReplyDelete
Oh, we had dozens and dozens of board games, anything to prize them away from computer games. Sorry was a favourite when they were young, they'd laugh and laugh after they'd knocked an opponent off and they had to go back to beginning. Kerplunk, Mouse Trap (though I hated that game, why is it the ones we're not keen on that they want to play all the time?), Monopoly, Cluedo, Operation, Hungry Hippos, Connect Four, I'm sure there's lots more. We still enjoy games now when the family's together, we love Trivial Pursuit and The Very Nasty Horse Racing Game is another favourite.ReplyDelete
Anything but monopoly which was always really contentious in our house!ReplyDelete
