My latest two blankets and a relaxed cat!

Here are my two latest blankets. The one above is a snuggle blanket for my granddaughter Emily who is seven.
This is Ruby's snuggle blanket.Ruby is Emily's younger sister and she is five. Both blankets measure about 4ft(120cm) by 3ft6inches(110cm).They are big enough to snuggle under but not too heavy.I used Stylecraft Special Dk which is lovely and soft but not expensive.I had hoped to photograph them out side but being on crutches that was a task too far!I am sure they will love them.

It is one week since my op and I am making progress I think. My wound which is 10" long is healing nicely and I am being a good girl and doing my exercises 4 times a day.I actually ventured out this morning. We needed to book tickets at the theatre so I went along and hobbled into the bistro for a coffee.A nice change of scene.C is being very good looking after me.He gave a talk to our Art Appreciation Group yesterday on the artist Adolphe Valette. He taught L.S.Lowry.This afternoon he is at his Philosophy Group discussing Nietsche!!I'm reading a women's magazine!
How relaxed is our cat?If you can find two cushions to sleep on-great and if its in the sun even better.

Eventually I have had my knee op.

I went in on Wednesday morning at 7.15am waited seven hours before being taken down to theatre.By that time I was cold and dehydrated and the anaesthetist had great difficulty finding a vein so I am covered in bruises.I think the op went well. They replaced the bearing and i am now home,on crutches and in pain BUT it is done and hopefully I am on the up.I shall enjoy a glass of wine this evening and sleeping in my own bed!!!

Snowdrops at Ness Gardens

It was lovely and sunny this morning so we decided a little stroll in Ness gardens would be good.It does my soul good going there. These snowdrops were a surprise given the awful weather we had last week.Ness gardens are on the Wirral peninsula and they certainly get better weather than us in North Wales, much milder.
There were even primroses out.We sat on a bench in the sun for about twenty minutes. It was so peaceful. All you could hear was the trickle of water and the birds.Just to feel the sun on your face does you good.I just need my op on the 13th Feb to go ahead and then I can start looking forward.I feel life has been on hold since this sorry tale about my knee started way back in September.Watch this space. What could possibly go wrong this time.

I'm addicted.......

I'm addicted to blanket making and it will have to stop soon! The above is the one I finished last week for my youngest grandaughter Ruby aged 5.(She lost her first tooth on Friday and was so upset she tried to put it back in!)She can't have it yet until another one is made for her sister Emily who is 7.
This is Emily's.Sorry the photo is on it's side.Blankets are such great projects for the winter as they keep you warm as you are doing them.I have used Stylecraft Special Dk and at £1.30 for 100gr it isn't too expensive.
I am already planning my next one.On a snowy Saturday last weekend I sorted out my craft cupboard(don't you feel good when you have done it) and all my spare bits of yarn are all together in one box and I am just going to make a random, multicoloured blanket. If it looks awful the cat can have it!!

Stunning scenery

We decided on a trip through Snowdonia today. It is only an hour away from us and what stunning scenery awaited us.This is by Plas y Brenin. The lake that usually is full of canoeists was frozen.Snowdon can be seen in the distance.
Closer to Snowdon even more spectacular. The roads were deserted but clear of snow and ice.
I took this through the windscreen on the way down through to Llanberis. We had just come past the car park where you park for Snowdon and it was full so there must have been some hardy souls who were attempting the climb!
We have had 7 inches of snow here in Mold and most of it is still here.More is expected in the next 24 hours. We had stopped in Betws y Coed for a coffee on the way and there was no snow there.
After our Snowdonia drive we went on to Anglesey to Beaumaris for lunch. We finish the day off with our Wine Appreciation group this evening, always a great event, lots of laughter as well as cheese and wine.

I bought this magazine..

I bought this magazine in Hobbycraft yesterday not realising it was last month's issue. When I googled it there were comments about it being taken over by someone else.Has anyone had the next issue?
We are expecting snow this afternoon and it shows it has gone a lot colder because I have just seen our first blackcap of the winter in the garden.
