Gina on Fan my Flame blog posted a photo of her wearing a top she had made years ago. This got me thinking.I dug out this tank top,a Kaffe Fassett kit that I made a long time ago.I can't bear to p art with it.I made it,I think, when Matt was in iniversity and he is 46 now.
I still fit into it!Perhaps I should start wearing it again.
Have you any knitting/crochet that you treasure from the past?
Lovely piece of stranded colourwork and it looks amazing on you. You must be so chuffed that it still fits and looks great.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. Handmade is definitely in style now. No sense in it being tucked away. I say wear it! :)
ReplyDeleteThis brings back a few memories. I made fairisle cardy's and waistcoats way back and really enjoyed it. Good that your's still fits, you should wear it, it looks good.

You should definitely wear it - it is a gorgeous and useful top.
ReplyDeleteKaffe Fassett is still designing things and is still in fashion :)
Hi Barbara, you definiety should wear it, it's beautiful! I love all Kaffe Fassett's knits and I've made a few many years ago but I no longer have them! Many's the time I wish I'd kept them. I don't have the patience to follow a pattern any more but I adore all his creations. In my eyes, no-one does colour like the king of colour himself! ;)xx
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing. If I ever make anything so beautiful, I would keep it forever.
ReplyDeleteI think it still looks wonderful. Such a work of art. I mad e flag sweater in the early 90's for some Olympics and I can't get rid of it although I only wore it once.
ReplyDeleteYour tank top looks fabulous still and quite a work of art. Thanks for your kovely comment on my recent blogpost. You really must try to visit Ely next time you are in the Cambridge area, it is a beautiful city. I've still not managed to visit your son's cafe as I'm not often in that part of Cambridge but maybe will one day.
ReplyDeleteI love it - I would DEFINITELY wear it if I were you x
ReplyDeleteWow, that's wonderful, such a beautiful piece of work and you should definitely wear it. It's funny, I was only thinking the other day about things I'd made in the past. I learnt to knit before I can remember and used to make myself things to wear when I was in my early teens, in fact, I can remember friends asking to borrow them so they must have been okay. I stopped knitting for many years and have only returned to it recently, I do wish I'd kept some of the things I made all those years ago.
ReplyDeleteI have a cardigan in a very similar style to your top. I have to admit I bought it in the late 80's. Strangely enough I dug it out the other day. I love rewearing old clothes that haven't seen the light of day for a while. B x
ReplyDeleteLove this! Love the patterns and the gorgeous colours! x
ReplyDeleteYes, wear it. It still looks great!
