Can you believe it?

Overnight someone slashed two tyres on our bigger car.We live in a quiet cul de sac in a small market town but we have a public footpath that runs up one side of the house. This morning the car had a definite lean.We called the RAC rescue who came and patched the tyres up so C could get it to a garage. We reported it to the police because we wanted a crime number for insurance purposes. We thought that would be that but this afternoon we had a visit from the police who said that at least six other cars had had tyres slashed and they were taking it seriously.Unmarked police cars out tonight and more men on the beat.We ended up wasting a day and having to buy two new tyres just because of mindless vandalism!

  1. I believe in Karma. A policeman once said to me that someone might not actually be caught for the crime I reported. But they are usually eventually caught for something.

  2. So sorry that you have this trouble, it is so mindless isn't it. Hope that you are all sorted now and that there will not be any more problems. xx

  3. How awful. The worst thing is you'll always feel vulnerable now.

  4. Hope the police catch the people who did this to you and to the other people who have had their tyres slashed. It is such a mean spirited thing to do and must have made all of you feel vulnerable. Take care:)

  6. I'm so sorry, I hope you've got it all sorted out now. What a society we live in these days, though I do believe that it's only a very small percentage of people who are so destructive and don't give a damn about other people or their belongings. In my experience, the majority of people we live amongst are honest, caring individuals and we really must take heart from that and not dwell on those who shouldn't be given a second thought.

  8. What an awful bit of vandalism, or pure meanness as my Grandmother would have termed it. I imagine that the police will eventually discover who done it, but also hope that this sort of occurrence will stop.

Living in a big city as I do makes me very aware of how good most people are. I think it's important to retain a positive outlook. There are currently quite a few politicians over here in the States who are seeking power by encouraging fear.

  12. Sorry to hear about that, something sadly wrong with people who do things like that. Hope its some comfort that it happened to others too and that you don't feel you were singled out, not much comfort I know.
