It is our 47th wedding anniversary today.Where has the time gone?It a tradition that if the weather is OK we drive through Snowdonia .It is less than an hour from home and today we woke to blue skies albeit frosty.
Imagine living here with this view in your back garden. There was snow on the mountains, not a lot, but enough to give us a wintry view.
This is near Cwm Idwal. You can see the lake below the mountain.Really dramatic scenery.
After we had driven through the mountains we came down to the coast and went on to the Isle of Anglesey for lunch in Beaumaris. This is Beaumaris Castle. We didn't go in today.Far too cold.
The above is the view across the Menai Straits to the mainland. We were back home by 4pm and go out to a local hostelry for a meal tonight.
To go back to the wedding anniversary,I can't believe we have been married for 47 years. We have produced two children who are married and have five grandchildren. We started as two and now we are 11.We are just as active and busy as we have been for years.I suppose it is just a number but also a rather amazing achievement.Long may it last.
Many congratulations to you both!

Congratulations! Did you call into Betws-y-coed when you were driving through Snowdonia? Looks like you had a lovely day out.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! How nice it must have been to have a Christmastime wedding. I've always liked the idea of that.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! Many congratulations on your 47 years, your outing to Snowdonia looks wonderful and I hope you enjoyed your evening out too:)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary. Congratulations on so many happy years.
ReplyDeleteCongrratulations on your anniversary. 47 years is an amazing achievement! Thank you for the comment on my blog. You asked about the cottage I mentionned! It is very much at the grass roots planning stage yet. We intend to downsize and my dream is a little cottage with beamed ceilings and a log burner.Whether we get one or not is another thing. I have seen several but they are quite expensive for the size of them. I want us to lawn our back garden in readiness for putting our house up for sale and also we need to freshen up a couple of rooms with a lick of paint. I would do it tomorrow but Tony was traumatised last time we moved and threatened 'never again' but he knows it makes sense to downsize in readiness for retirement in the next few years.
ReplyDelete(Slightly belated) Happy Anniversary good wishes. And may there be many more happy and healthy years together yet to come.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours only good things in 2014
Happy anniversary! It's quite an achievement that you lasted so many years and lived happily and made such a beautiful family. Many wishes for the years to come.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your anniversary - wow - you got married between Christmas and New Year? That is a feat! I celebrate 25 this February (Valentines Day to be exact). Happy Anniversary if a bit belated.
