Cross stitch

I bought this cross stitch kit before Xmas.I have already done a large alphabet one and thought itwould be a good idea to do another large project while I was laid up.OMG- it is huge!!!The thinking was that I could do it a room at a time. How long it will take me to do I have no idea.
It has been great that the Australian Open tennis is on every morning so I have been watching that.I am sure you are all thinking how great -all that free time but there is a lot of pain going with it!!I am trying to get out and about. After physio today C dropped me at a local coffee shop where I met a friend and had a good natter.I was told by physio that I can use just one crutch inside which means I can carry things but still use two outside for another 4 weeks. It is written in big letters on the calendar when I can start driving again.
I have finished my first 4 squares for the mystery blanket but one is definitely not a square but a rectangle.
I am just about to finish reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy.Has anyone seen the film?I have penfriends all over the world and I have just discovered that one in Arizona has just published her first novel .I ordered it from Amazon and can't wait to read it knowing the author.

Feeling better

I have made this bracelet from a kit that my daughter bought me for Xmas and feel really pleased with it.The photo isn't too good but when you are oncrutches life is a little more difficult!

Sarah sent me beads in my Xmas box so I am now ready to get beading with those.

I have finally started my first square for the Debbie Abrahams Mysyery blanket and have 2 weeks to complete all 4 before the next batch arrives.

I am definitely feeling better.I had my staples out today, all 46 of them!!!My leg and foot are still very swollen and bruised but this it appears is quite normal.I am still having problems sleeping but a G&T helps.

I am feeling really happy tonight because I have re established contact with my only god daughter. We always exchange Xmas cards but nothing else.My OH and I were good friends of E's mum and dad but unfortunately mum became alcoholicand died and dad did not seem to want contact.I n this year's card E said she had had a baby.I promptly sent off a present and photos of our family and tonight I had a long reply plus photos of her, herhusband and the baby. Now we have e mail contact it will be so much better sending theodd message and photo.Good news.

my op

I went infor my op last Sunday.Monday morning I was all gowned up and ready to go to theatre when I heard my name.I thought it was a porter come to take me down but it was the consultant telling me the op was off, again, because "poor theatre management had not provided the correct sterile instruments".I was gutted!! He promised me it would be on Wednesday which it was ,eventually after enough theatre staff and the surgeon managed to get in through the snow.I came home on Friday and until today felt good.My whole leg is one big bruise!!Not a pretty sight at all.Hopefully I have now hit the bottom and will continue to improve each day.
Hope you are all well.I havn't musteredtoo much enthusiasm for craft work yet but did do some beading this morning.
