As September starts so are U3A groups getting going again albeit with strict rules.OH kicks off with a talk to the Art Appreciation group. His subject is Van Gogh. The Asylum Year. Not having mixed with people, apart from family, for 18 months it feels a little daunting particularly as we have moved house to a new area.We will still go back to our old U3A groups which will be a little easier but again I am nervous.I have been seeing a friend every Friday which has been a lifeline.
I am sure I shall be fine!Barbara
Our u3a started up slowly and instead of the usual monthly meeting we had an open morning where members could sit at large round tables. About 80 members attended where usually there are 150. Judging by the sound of the chatter everyone was so glad to see each other again. I know it's daunting taking those first steps back to some kind of normality but the boost it gives to your mental health by just being around people again is well worth it. Enjoy! xx
ReplyDeleteI understand you feeling nervous. I felt nervous recently when we delivered the donation to Creswell Crags - having to go into a place of work and communicate with people felt danting after so long. I'm sure you will be fine with any new U3A groups and with your old ones too:)
ReplyDeleteI understand. I had Little Buddy at the splash park today and it just got too crowded, I had to leave and get him out of there. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteI think life has returned to normal for many people now that restrictions have been lifted. We're still wearing our masks and avoiding places we know are going to be busy, better to be safe than sorry.
