Can anyone please explain to me why it is better to be on Instagram than on Blogger. Also why are people leaving blogger?I love reading blogs from around the World.
I wonder if it's because Instagram is faster than blogging? You know the instant gratification without really having to do any work for it. I'm not knocking Instagram but blogging, IMO, takes time and thought. And many people aren't willing to do that. I don't have Instagram and probably never will. I'm not so much into social media but I do love reading others' blogs and blogging myself. Granted I've been too busuy trying to finish my DD's wedding sampler before June but I do plan to get back to regular blogging when it's done. So I'll keep reading and blogging.
I can't say I have noticed people leaving Blogger. The blogs I read are still active. If too many left, though, I would have to look into Instagram as I would miss keeping up with my virtual friends.
Blogging appeals to me, not just for the photographs but also for the opportunity it gives us to connect through our writing, as well. Yes, as Bette said, it's the Instant in Instagram that has help popularize it with lots of folks.
I have noticed the switch to Instagram and I think it is faster and people can do it from their phone so they can access it any time they want. I am staying solidly here in Blogland. Hugs, Meredith
Instagram is fast compared to blogging, I imagine that is the attraction. There isn't the same interaction though, no long comments, no long posts to read, just short snippets which are lovely, but not the same as blogging. I am just new to Instagram and I love it, but I still love blogging and podcasting too!
I don't have Instagram but from what I can gather, you don't connect with people in the same way as you do when blogging. It's the interaction that I enjoy, friendships have been made since I started blogging and I'd miss it if I no longer had my blog.
Apparently, you can post pics from your iPhone to Instagram and Facebook at the same time. (Two birds with one stone.)Since I do not have FB, I haven't tried this, but I do have IG. Some of the long time bloggers that I know moved, as I was told, to IG because they felt it was time for a change.

ReplyDeleteI thought Instagram was just for photos. Give me blogging any day for communicating with others and sharing your life and ideas.
