I'm feeling sad today

I have been following a blog by a remarkable young lady called Rosie Kilburn.I came across the blog in an article in the Guardian some while ago.Rosie was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer in 2008.She died yesterday aged just 19.She set up a charity called the Knock on Effect. She was promoting the message that cancer is not about suffering,it's about surviving.Unfortunately she didn't.She was a lively young woman with so many hopes and plans for the future. She did a "vlog" last Wednesday and although she was breathless it was lovely to hear her voice. She was blogging even on Saturday showing off her new duvet cover. She was full of humour and I for one will never forget her.Such a waste.

Something like this really makes you think.Sorry it is such a glum post.

  1. We get to know lots of different people by blogging. She sounds like a special little sprite. My daughter is fighting stage 4 cancer... she is handling it with such grace, and alot of stubbornness I must say. I admire her. She isn't letter herself be morose or depressed. (She leaves that to me to do.) She looks forward to being normal so she can get out and help other people. Seems the good ones go soonest.
    I'm sorry for your loss.
    Hugs,

  2. Blog land is an amazing place and touches us all in so many ways - I know it has helped me on sad days and others it can be just so much fun. I am sure once that initial shock has passed you will be able to hold onto the fact that it was positivity that Rosie wanted to spread and hold onto that thought on her behalf. Sxx

  3. That's sad and such a tragic waste of a life. It just goes to show that you have to treasure and enjoy every moment. Life really is too short for regrets.
